Pearl Jam, Alive

This song just about shattered me.

My father died when I was 8 years old. My mother died the week this song came out. I went home after we buried her and the words took me down... I should have heard her sooner. She was always saying to me "But I'm still alive", but now she wasn't.

Talk about a wake-up call??? Whew!

I wasted time with a beautiful mother crying over a dead father....
