No way to describe this, but Mama Cass is in it and Hendrix and The Momma's and the Papa's and it is excellent!

The real thing... Buffalo Springfield.

I once heard they were called that because they were so good they could own half of Buffalo and all of Springfield and I believe it.

For what it's worth Mr Soul!

Led Zeppelin cover, "For what it's worth"

I never knew they did this but it's a sweet cover. I love Jimmy Page's guitar on it.

Quote below:
Led Zeppelin covering Buffalo Springfield's For What it's Worth live in concert. Included on this video are two live performances of the cover. The first being during the Communication Breakdown medley as recorded on the famous bootleg "Live on Blueberry Hill", the second one comes from a much darker and creepier performance of the song recorded live at Seattle in March 21st 1975, both are some of my favorite live Led Zeppelin moments. BTW add &fmt=18 at the end of the URL to get High Quality Sound.

Dork that uploaded this messed it all up. I guess the puppy needs attention, just look at as a sampler...

This was the first post of this video. I am the one who made this video, but other people have decided to re-post the video and they are saying its their video. I really don't want anyone else to re-post it because I don't see a point in having the same video on youtube more thatn once. And I know a lot of people are saying the story isn't true, but it doesn't matter if it's true or not, its the message in the story. And I know in the video I said the story was true, but that was when I really thought the story was true, but a lot of people are telling me its not true, so I really don't know if its true or not, so DON'T ASK ME!!!

Songs:
First song is "It Ends Tonight" by The All-American Rejects,

I beautiful Elton John cover...

Quotes from original post, and in French too...

Singer : Sinead O'Connor
From the album : Two rooms : celebrating the songs
of Elton John and Bernie Taupin
Country : UK

LYRICS :

It's a human sign
When things go wrong
When the scent of her lingers
And temptation's strong

C'est un signe humain
Quand les choses vont mal
Quand son odeur s'attarde
Et que la tentation est forte

Into the boundary
Of each married man
Sweet deceit comes calling
And negativity lands

A l'intérieur
De chaque homme marié
De douces déceptions l'appellent
Ainsi que des paysages négatifs

Cold cold heart
Hard done by you
Some things look better baby
Just passing through

Coeur froid froid
Entièrement de ta faute
Il y a des choses qui semblent meilleures chéri
Celles-ci ne font que passer

And it's no sacrifice
Just a simple word
It's two hearts living
In two separate worlds
But it's no sacrifice
No sacrifice
It's no sacrifice at all

Et il n'y a aucun sacrifice
Juste un simple mot
Ce sont deux coeurs qui vivent
Dans deux mondes séparés
Mais il n'y pas de sacrifice
Pas de sacrifice
Il n'y a pas de sacrifice du tout

Mutual misunderstanding
After the fact
Sensitivity builds a prison
In the final act

Malentendu mutuel
Après le fait que
La sensibilité construit une prison
Dans l'acte final

We lose direction
No stone unturned
No tears to damn you
When jealousy burns

Nous perdons la direction
Aucune pierre à lancer
Aucune larme pour te blâmer
Quand la jalousie brûle

LOL...

a poet, not "A Poet" but small case "a poet"

Being a poet sucks. Being A Poet might be fine, but being a poet sucks.
It means you study words, look for the hidden.
Nothing now trusted, yet you know the rules of words.
You refuse to play them because reality is never going to change.
You dress so weird and talk different just to define yourself differently.
You would fight some with the law man
Try to run and to escape.
You're only a stinking poet though.
Why do they waste their time on you?
Memories are all you have, bags of burden, bags of claim.
Tomorrow is something you don't have faith in but the past you want to love.
Art is the only way you can connect. Even...
Even out of 100 lovers they won't know or share what it means to you.

A poet is a person chooses to think that the beauty is here and now.
A poet also reflects on things from the past.
A poet is someone who loves and appreciates both anger and path in life.
But more a poet lives for this day and loves everything a poet has learned in life.

Gdańsk (pronounced /ɡəˈdɑːnsk/, Polish [gdaɲsk] ( listen); German: Danzig [ˈdantsɪç] ( listen); Kashubian: Gduńsk; Latin: Gedania, Dantiscum) is the city at the centre of the fourth-largest metropolitan area in Poland.[1] It is Poland's principal seaport as well as the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is also historically the largest city of the Kashubian region. The city is close to the former boundary between West Slavic and Germanic lands and it has a complex political history with long spells of Polish rule interspersed with periods of German control and two spells as a free city. For much of its history the majority of its inhabitants were German-speakers who referred to their city as Danzig, but after World War II it again became part of Poland.

The city lies on the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea), in a conurbation with the spa town of Sopot, the city of Gdynia and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto), with a population of over 800,000.[1] Gdańsk itself has a population of 458,053 (2006), making it the largest city in the Pomerania region of Northern Poland.

Gdańsk is situated at the mouth of the Motława River, connected to the Leniwka, a branch in the delta of the nearby Vistula River, whose waterway system supplies 60% of the area of Poland and connects Gdańsk to the national capital in Warsaw. This gives the city a unique advantage as the center of Poland's sea trade. Together with the nearby port of Gdynia, Gdańsk is also an important industrial center. Historically an important seaport and shipbuilding center, Gdańsk was a member of the Hanseatic League.

The city was the birthplace of the Solidarity movement which, under the leadership of Gdańsk political activist Lech Wałęsa, played a major role in bringing an end to Communist rule across Central Europe. It is also the home and birthplace of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who is of Kashubian origin...

Names

The city's name is thought to originate from the Gdania river,[2] the original name of the Motława branch on which the city is situated. Gdańsk and Gdania are considered to be derivations from the Gothic name of the area (Gutiskandja),[3] however this has also been questioned.[4] Like many other Central European cities, Gdańsk has had many different names throughout its history.

Zwantepolc de Danceke, 1228

The name Gdańsk is usually pronounced /ɡəˈdɑːnsk/, sometimes /ɡəˈdaɪnsk/ or /ɡəˈdænsk/, in English. The diacritic over the "n" is frequently omitted by non-Poles. In the local Kashubian language it is known as Gduńsk.

The Germanised version of this name, Danzig, has been used by the German population, as well as in English[5] until the end of World War II. Other former English versions of its name include Dantzig, Dantsic, and Dantzic. The city's Latin name may be given as either Gedania, Gedanum or Dantiscum; the variety of Latin names reflects the mixed influence of the city's Polish, German and Kashubian heritage.

The name of a settlement was recorded after St. Adalbert's demise in 997 A.D. as urbs Gyddanyzc and later was written as Kdanzk (1148), Gdanzc (1188), Danceke[6] (1228), Gdansk (1236), Danzc (1263), Danczk (1311, 1399, 1410, 1414-1438), Danczik (1399, 1410, 1414), Danczig (1414), Gdansk (1454, 1468, 1484), Gdansk (1590), Gdąnsk (1636) and in Latin documents Gedanum or Dantiscum.

Regia Civitatis Gedanensis (Royal City of Gdańsk) coin of 1589, Sigismund III Vasa period.

On special occasions it is also known as The Royal Polish City of Gdańsk (Polish: Królewskie Polskie Miasto Gdańsk, Latin: Regia Civitas Polonica Gedanensis, Kashubian: Królewsczi Polsczi Gard Gduńsk).[7][8][9]

The Kashubians prefer the name: Our Capital City Gdańsk (Nasz Stoleczny Gard Gduńsk) or The Kashubian Capital City Gdańsk (Stoleczny Kaszëbsczi Gard Gduńsk).

Badfinger - Baby Blue (Kenny Rogers Show 1972)

Badfinger was a rock band formed in Swansea, Wales in the early 1960s and was one of the earliest representatives of the power pop genre. During the early 1970s the band was tagged as the heir apparent to The Beatles, partly because of their close working relationship with the 'Fab Four' and partly because of their similar sound. However, Badfinger fell victim to some of the worst elements of the music industry, resulting in its two principal singers and songwriters committing suicide in 1975 and 1983.

Badfinger: The Apple years

In October 1969, while the release of "Come and Get It" was pending, the band and Apple Records agreed that a name change was now critical. "The Iveys" were still sometimes confused with "The Ivy League", and the name was considered too trite for the current music scene. After much debate, the group changed their name to Badfinger. Other suggestions had included: "The Glass Onion," "The Prix", and "The Cagneys" from John Lennon, and "Home" by Paul McCartney.[2]

For over a month the group unsuccessfully auditioned band members to replace Ron Griffiths, chiefly bass players. With the release date of "Come and Get It" fast approaching, Badfinger finally hired Liverpudlian guitarist Joey Molland (previously with Gary Walker & The Rain, The Masterminds, and The Fruit-Eating Bears), which required Evans shift to bass guitar.[1]

All of above is a teaser posted from Wiki's page located [HERE], I recommend you check out the rest of the page.

Additional notes: What destroyed this band was actually bad rumor, they were said to be an imitation Beatles band. When in fact they were not but they did have the Beatles sound and for good reason they did. George Harrison did the sound production for and with them on their top U.S. album "Straight Up", given that of course they would have the Beatles sound, but they were imitating no one.

Bonus: You can really hear George Harrison's guitar influence in this one and I heard he wrote some of it for Badfinger, for this song. Here is Day After Day..

Another Doctor Demento song.

Funny Farm:

Andy Kaufman does Elvis (the Johnny Cash Show 1979)

This is a Great Performance!

From Doctor Demento Show "

Lloyd sent this to me but I remember it from the Great Dr Demento Radio Show, it's called "The Great Smokeoff".Back in the early 70's.

Thanx Bro!

The Great Smoke Off

In the laid back California town of sunny San Rafael
Lived a girl named Pearly Sweetcake, you prob’ly knew her well.
She’d been stoned fifteen of her eighteen years and the story was widely told
That she could smoke 'em faster than anyone could roll.
Her legend finally reached New York, that Grove Street walk-up flat
Where dwelt The Calistoga Kid, a beatnik from the past
With long browned lightnin’ fingers he takes a cultured toke
And says, "Hell, I can roll ‘em faster, Jim, than any chick can smoke!"
So a note gets sent to San Rafael, "For the Championship of the World
The Kid demands a smoke off!" "Well, bring him on!" says Pearl,
"I'll grind his fingers off his hands, he'll roll until he drops!"
Says Calistog, "I'll smoke that chick till she blows up and pops!"
So they rent out Yankee Stadium and the word is quickly spread
"Come one, come all, who walk or crawl, tickets– just two lids a head
And from every town and hamlet, over land and sea they speed
The world's greatest dopers, with the Worlds greatest weed!
Hashishers from Morocco, hemp smokers from Peru
And the Shamnicks from Bagun who puff the deadly Pugaroo
And those who call it Light of Life and those that call it boo.
See the dealers and their ladies wearing turquoise, lace, and leather
See the narcos and the closet smokers puffin’ all together
From the teenies who smoke legal to the ones who've done some time
To the old man who smoked "reefer" back before it was a crime
And the grand old house that Ruth built is filled with the smoke and cries
Of fifty thousand screaming heads all stoned out of their minds.
And they play the national anthem and the crowd lets out a roar
As the spotlight hits The Kid and Pearl, ready for their smokin' war
At a table piled up high with grass, as high as a mountain peak
Just tops and buds of the rarest flowers, not one stem, branch or seed.
Maui Wowie, Panama Red and Acapulco Gold.
Kif from East Afghanistan and rare Alaskan Cold.
Sticks from Thailand, Ganja from the Islands, and Bangkok's Bloomin' Best.
And some of that wet imported shit that capsized off Key West.
Oaxacan tops and Kenya Bhang and Riviera Fleurs.
And that rare Manhatten Silver that grows down in the New York sewers.
And there's bubblin’ ice cold lemonade and sweet grapes by the bunches.
And there's Hershey’s bars, and Oreos, ‘case anybody gets the munchies.
And the Calistoga Kid, he sneers, and Pearley, she just grins.
And the drums roll low and the crowd yells "GO!" and the world’s first Smoke Off begins.
Kid flicks his magic fingers once and ZAP! that first joint’s rolled.
Pearl takes one drag with her mighty lungs and WOOSH! that roach is cold.
Then The Kid he rolls his Super Bomb that’d paralyze a moose.
And Pearley takes one super hit and SLURP! that bomb’ defused.
Then he rolls three in just ten seconds and she smokes 'em up in nine,
And everybody sits back and says, "This just might take some time."
See the blur of flyin’ fingers, see the red coal burnin’ bright
As the night turns into mornin’ and the mornin’ fades to night
And the autumn turns to summer and a whole damn year is gone
But the two still sit on that roach-filled stage, smokin' and rollin' on
With tremblin’ hands he rolls his jays with fingers blue and stiff
She coughs and stares with bloodshot gaze, and puffs through blistered lips.
And as she reaches out her hand for another stick of gold
The Kid he gasps, "Damn it, bitch, there's nothin' left to roll!"
"Nothin’ left to roll?", screams Pearl, "Is this some twisted joke?"
"I didn't come here to fuck around, man, I come here to SMOKE!"
And she reaches 'cross the table And grabs his bony sleeves
And she crumbles his body between her hands like dried and brittle leaves
Flickin' out his teeth and bones like useless stems and seeds
And then she rolls him in a Zig Zag and lights him like a roach.
And the fastest man with the fastest hands goes up in a puff of smoke.
In the laid-back California town of sunny San Rafael
Lives a girl named Pearly Sweetcake, you prob’ly know her well.
She’s been stoned twenty-one of her twenty-four years, and the story’s widely told.
How she still can smoke them faster than anyone can roll
While off in New York City on a street that has no name.
There's the hands of the Calistoga Kid in the Viper Hall of Fame
And underneath his fingers there's a little golden scroll
That says, Beware of Bein’ the Roller When There's Nothin’ Left to Roll.

Buffalo Springfield:

Lloyd shared this with me, thanx Bro!

I hate Pussy-whipped people!

If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.

Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.

This meow is actually a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry. While people usually think of cat purring as a sign of happiness, some cats make this purr-cry sound when they want to be fed. The study showed that humans find these mixed calls annoying and difficult to ignore.

"The embedding of a cry within a call that we normally associate with contentment is quite a subtle means of eliciting a response," said Karen McComb of the University of Sussex. "Solicitation purring is probably more acceptable to humans than overt meowing, which is likely to get cats ejected from the bedroom."

They know us

Previous research has shown similarities between cat cries and human infant cries.

McComb suggests that the purr-cry may subtly take advantage of humans' sensitivity to cries they associate with nurturing offspring. Also, including the cry within the purr could make the sound "less harmonic and thus more difficult to habituate to," she said.

McComb got the idea for the study from her experience with her own cat, who would consistently wake her up in the mornings with a very insistent purr. After speaking with other cat owners, she learned that some of their cats also made the same type of call. As a scientist who studies vocal communication in mammals, she decided to investigate the manipulative meow.

Tough to test

Setting up the experiments wasn't easy. While the felines used purr-cries around their familiar owners, they were not eager to make the same cries in front of strangers. So McComb and her team trained cat owners to record their pets' cries - capturing the sounds made by cats when they were seeking food and when they were not. In all, the team collected recordings from 10 different cats.

The researchers then played the cries back for 50 human participants, not all of whom owned cats. They found that humans, even if they had never had a cat themselves, judged the purrs recorded while cats were actively seeking food - the purrs with an embedded, high-pitched cry - as more urgent and less pleasant than those made in other contexts.

When the team re-synthesised the recorded purrs to remove the embedded cry, leaving all else unchanged, the human subjects' urgency ratings for those calls decreased significantly.

McComb said she thinks this cry occurs at a low level in cats' normal purring, "but we think that cats learn to dramatically exaggerate it when it proves effective in generating a response from humans." In fact, not all cats use this form of purring at all, she said, noting that it seems to most often develop in cats that have a one-on-one relationship with their owners rather than those living in large households, where their purrs might be overlooked.

The results were published in the July 14 issue of the journal Current Biology.

Turmeric, can it relieve pain and help with cancer?

One guys post is as follows...

BerkanaBerkana <--- He posted this.

It's also a simple remedy for cancer, according to some cancer survivors:
http://margaret.healthblogs.org/life-with-myeloma/ ...
My friend's mom was dying of the side effects of chemotherapy for her cancer when she got off of chemotherapy and went onto curcumin therapy (curcumin is the active substance in turmeric) three years ago. The cancer is now undetectable in her blood, and she is still alive today. Curcumin causes cancerous cells to go into apoptosis (cell death) without harming healthy cells--most conventional chemotherapy drugs can't even do that. But it is only ever prescribed by alternative medicine practitioners (of which many are quacks, I must admit), in part because big pharma won't support the expensive studies needed to make it officially prescribable as a medicine because curcumin threatens their profits.

Medicinal uses

Turmeric plant

In Ayurvedic practices, turmeric is thought to have many medicinal properties and many in South Asia use it as a readily available antiseptic for cuts, burns and bruises. It is also used as an antibacterial agent.

It is taken in some Asian countries as a dietary supplement, which allegedly helps with stomach problems and other ailments. It is popular as a tea in Okinawa, Japan. Pakistanis also use it as an anti-inflammatory agent, and remedy for gastrointestinal discomfort associated with irritable bowel syndrome, and other digestive disorders. In Afghanistan and North West Pakistan, turmeric is applied to a piece of burnt cloth, and placed over a wound to cleanse and stimulate recovery. Indians, in addition to its Ayurvedic properties, use turmeric in a wide variety of skin creams that are also exported to neighboring countries. It is currently being investigated for possible benefits in Alzheimer's disease[4], cancer and liver disorders.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa or Acne Inversa, an uncurable and debilitating disease, is also treated with Tumeric Powder. It is unknown why it works, but people that have suffered from HS for 30–40 years have reported almost an immediete improvement after comsuming 1 teaspoon in 1/4 of warm water 3x a day. Within 1 week of using Tumeric, these same people have reported almost a complete reduction of boils and purple scarring.

Turmeric rhizome

In the latter half of the 20th century, curcumin was identified as responsible for most of the biological effects of turmeric. According to a 2005 article in the Wall Street Journal, research activity into curcumin is exploding. In that year supplement sales increased 35% from 2004, and the U.S. National Institutes of Health had four clinical trials underway to study curcumin treatment for pancreatic cancer, multiple myeloma, Alzheimer's, and colorectal cancer. Curcumin also enhances the production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BDNF, which supports nerve growth.[citation needed]

There is evidence that piperine, found in black pepper, improves the absorption of turmeric. In 1998 researchers at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore, India found that curcumin taken with 20 mg of piperine increased the absorption of curcumin by 2000%, with no adverse effects.[1] This means that a low dose of curcumin (or turmeric for that matter) could have a greater effect in terms of health benefits when combined with piperine than a large dose of curcumin or turmeric would.

Dosages between half a teaspoon three times a day of a mixture of 16 parts of turmeric powder to 1 part of ground black pepper, and two teaspoons of turmeric powder and half a teaspoon of ground black pepper per day have been recommended.[citation needed]

Turmeric has also been demonstrated to contain curcumin, a selective monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) of type MAO-A. Taken from Wiki's page ---> [HERE]

Art of Ray 'Bubba' Sorensen

This came to me in an email from my very good and long time friend Lady Sasha. I'm not going to tell you where she's from because she's my friend and I respect her privacy but she is not from The United States Of America.

What made me feel good is that she still cares about our brave woman and men that have sacrificed so much that she took the time to send me this. I am not fond of out involvement out there under Bush's misguiding and lying rule of us for eight (too) long years. I am however hopeful for the safety of every man or woman sent there to fight and for them I have complete honor, love and respect.

I can't believe this was done by a teenager!
I can believe it, yes, there are more than a few thugs out there but there are many more nice teenagers than we ever hear about. We only hear about the bad, never the good.

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy. 25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed.

It's quite an impressive sight. Be sure to scroll down and check out the multiple photos.(all angles) of the rock.

I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too.
