Mister Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull band is one crazy son of a bitch. The man is Mid evil England in it's entirety. He sings with his eyes even. Beyond that his writings go deeper than you might notice upon first hearing them.

Cheap day return is about him visiting his very ill father, seeing him poorly cared for and the nurse wanted his autograph... "What a Laugh!"

Locomotive breath I think is about the insanity of feelings. Where they can take you and how one last consideration can change things for the better...

Aqualung is just plain failure.
