Hans Rosling [info post]

I can't express how I feel about these guys at ted.com. I am truly amazed by their concepts and sharing of idea's. I have posted a couple others from their site [link is here], most of what I have found of theirs was through Google search though. Here is a link to the search results from Google [here].

I know it's heavy on the head to watch this kind of stuff but it is healthy and I truly think that we as people of this world need to stop hiding from the heavy topics and give them some creed also. Sex is great, sports are fun, music is beautiful but reality is also out there and NONE of those things are reality. They are entertainment, they are fun, they are distraction and all three of them are "mostly" all in your head. Reality is not fun, not entertaining and usually not beautiful but it is something we need to address. Remember the old saying "use it or lose it"? Too many people have lost it already.

End of my bullshit, following is the real post...

Ideas Worth Spreading: Hans Rosling from TED.com
2006 - 20:33 - Jun 28, 2006

"See" how the world is changing. Visual imagery can tell stories and truths which would be very hard to capture and communicate otherwise. Hans Rosling, Professor of International Health, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden since 1998, uses beautiful animated charts and minimalistic diagrams to explain the world we live in. Poverty, money and health can be seen at once shaping or being shaped by world events, technology and the passing of time. This is a beautiful lesson in visual communication. A must view for any serious presenter.
